Back to Berlin

I’ve been MIA for a while. It’s very easy to put your own blog on the back-burner for a while, especially when you’re away, traveling, meeting with friends, reconnecting with NYC. The last things I did in Berlin were fairly amazing though. Most of you have probably guessed that I went to a Radiohead concert in this fine city. I was totally blown away by it too. I didn’t even expect much out of it. Well, when I bought the tickets I expected to be blown away. Then  I figured since they are so big right now, their shows would live up to people’s expectations anymore. After that, I went back and forth until before the show I resolved to have no expectations whatsoever. Well, as little as I could. I did say I wanted to hear Everything In Its Right Place, as it is one of my all time favorite track. My neighbor told me they didn’t play it the night before (which wasn’t true, but he probably didn’t realize it). Anyways, not only did they play Everything In Its Right Place, but they played, There There, Idioteque in a psycho-delic finish, Reckoner, Little by Little and Seperator. Also for a major band, they had a great connection to their audience. Thom Yorke’s charisma off-stage translates very well on-stage.

In short, if you’re ever debating whether you should go see a Radiohead gig, I’ve just made the decision very easy for you.
